Course Program

Course days are held on weekends only. 

Practical Components in Hypnosis

Day 1 – Introduction to hypnotic phenomena: Ethics, hypnotisability, consent, seeding, 4 steps of hypnosis

Day 2  – Introduction to Clinical Hypnosis: Abreaction, Yes sets, setting up ideomotors, Lived in imagination

Day 3 – Introduction to Clinical Hypnosis: Spiegel and other inductions, body dissociation, self hypnosis

Day 4 – Introduction to Clinical Hypnosis: Indirect techniques and metaphor, Ego strengthening

Applications of Hypnosis Topics Include

Day 5 – Lifestyle changes (morning) Maternity Care (afternoon)

Day 6 – Anxiety

Day 7 – Children   

Day 8 – Grief (morning) Depression (afternoon)

Day 9 – Pain  

Day 10 – Advanced Techniques: Affect Bridge; Dentistry

Day 11 – Cancer (morning); Student presentations

Day 12 – Student Presentations

Assessments

  • 10 short case studies 
  • Student Presentations
  • Long Case Report
  • Students Viva and Practical Assessment 

Short Case Studies and Long Case Reports 

June – Final date for submission of first 5 short case studies

August  – Final date for review of your long case report by SASH (if required)

September – Final date for submission of your long case report to SASH

October – Final date for submission of last 5 short case studies to SASH (Total of 10 short case studies required)

Complete supervision/mentoring hours, to give a minimum total of 50 hours.
Please note each study day includes 4 hours of supervision and practice of hypnosis techniques, plus 1 hour at end of most course days.

Course Fee

Discounted Fee – $5,500 (incl GST) to be received in full by 1st February 2025.
Split Payment Fee – $6,000 (incl GST)

Course Fee includes:

  • Face to face lectures and practical supervision;
  • Lunch and light refreshments at morning and afternoon tea;
  • Membership of the South Australian Society of Hypnosis (SASH) for the duration of the course (Trainee / Associate membership) & then another 6 months full membership after successful completion of all assessments;
  • Access to the student and member sections of the SASH website;
  • Access to research papers on hypnosis, PowerPoint presentations, videos of hypnosis techniques and teaching sessions from previous courses (over 500 hours of video training materials);
  • Access to the SASH library;
  • Assessment – 10 short case studies, one case report, Student Presentations Weekend; Viva and Practical Assessment; 
  • Graduation Dinner and award of Full membership of SASH on successful completion of the SASH Postgraduate training in Clinical Hypnosis.

Deposit $500 – due by 31st Dec 2025
Remaining $5,000 – due by 1st Feb 2026

Split payment – total $6,000
Deposit $500 – due by 31st Dec 2025
Remaining $5,500 – paid in split payments:
$3,000 – by 1st Feb 2026
$2,500 – by 1st Jul 2026

This will confirm a place on the course for AHPRA registered eligible applicants

Pay the remaining fee in single or split payments
